Golf Buddy Voice GPS Review
This Golf Buddy Voice GPS review with comprehensive comments including what we like about the GPS, and what we think its shortcomings are.
The Golf Buddy Voice GPS Rangefinder is the number 1 best selling golf GPS and for good reason; it does exactly what it says.
For most people front, back, and middle distance to the green is good enough and that’s exactly what this GPS delivers; yardage to the middle of the green. This is a great product, is super easy to use, and comes with pre-loaded courses.
The Golf Buddy Voice is also so small you can carry it in your pocket or clip it to your shirt or hat. The image can even be flipped upside down to allow wearing it on your belt a snap. There is practically nothing to do except turn it on and use it.
If you need or want a lot of other course information such as distances to water, to clear water, to clear sand or hazards, layup distances etc then you may want to consider a full featured hand held GPS unit.
But if all you want is distance to the pin so you can select your club and shoot, then this model is worth considering.

Golf Buddy Voice GPS Rangefinder Functions
(Back to Top)
The Golf Buddy Voice GPS Rangefinder is as simple to operate as you can get, with only five buttons that control all of its functions.
Simply press a button to get yardage to the middle of the green first and if you press again it gives yardage to the front of the green. Press yet again and it will give yardage to the back of the green.
When switching to voice mode you will hear a computer sounding female voice that some describe as similar to a voice found on a smart phone. If you don’t want the voice it can easily be silenced.
The best feature of all is always displaying the yardage. In my opinion, this is the absolute best feature it offers. Just think how easy this is to use. No fumbling with a large unit or pulling a GPS out of your pocket. No turning a GPS on and off or switching screens.
The Golf Buddy Voice is always displaying yardage while you move so checking yardage takes about one second!

This is a unique golf GPS that displays yardage and also speaks the distances to you. Yes you can turn off the voice if you just prefer to look at the display. It is also one of the smallest golf GPS units available at only 1.7 inches x1.7 inches.
The Golf Buddy Voice GPS Rangefinder offers a 40,000 course capacity so is sure to have your course loaded.
In addition to providing a dynamic green view, this GPS also supports shot distance measurement. Even without this feature you could calculate how far you have hit your shot by subtracting yardages, but the shot distance feature makes this so much easier.

Pros & Cons
Pros:
This is the most user reviewed Golf GPS on Amazon and is their best seller. Users report that accuracy has been excellent, however there are a minority reporting some accuracy variances. Remember this GPS lets you choose yards or meters, so always check which unit you are using.
No fees or subscriptions are necessary meaning this unit does not cost extra to use.
One of the best features of this GPS is the form factor. You can easily clip this onto the side of your hat or your belt and forget it is there. You can flip the screen upside down which is great when wearing on your belt.
It will locate the course in a couple of minutes and announces yardage to center with a simple press of a button! Don’t forget, you can choose meters if you prefer.
Pricing is an advantage as this compact GPS can be purchased for about one third the cost of a handheld GPS.
Lastly, my favorite feature is always displaying yardage so you can focus on playing golf and enjoying your game.
Cons:
This GPS has a lot of satisfied users, but the Amazon reviews also show not everyone was satisfied with their purchase. There were some users unhappy with customer service. Those reviews appear to be more dated, so this may or may not currently be an issue.
The warranty is 90 days, which is less than the warranty offered by other brands.
On some small courses or where the fairways run very close or parallel to each other if you hook or slice it may switch to the wrong hole as you go to your ball location. Hey, I’ve hit to the wrong fairway on occasion too.
There is no scorecard feature with the Golf Buddy Voice GPS.
The GPS comes with a clear rubber waterproof cover for use if it is raining, which suggests the unit itself may not be waterproof.
